iMovie 09 Will not recognize my Panasonic PV-GS320 Digital Video Camera?

ok so i have a Panasonic PV-GS320 Digital Video Camera and when i connect it to my computer with the usb cable imovie doesnt recognize the camera meaning when i try to import the videos to imovie there is nothing that shows my camera everywhere it lets you select what camera you want to import from. anyone have any thought whats incorrect? if so, how can i fix it?

the only thing you can use your USB for is for pictures, not Video.

The camera is a tape based camera, you need to use firewire, if your mac does not have one, and you cannot place one in then you are not going to be able to get the video onto your computer, check to see if you have firewire, if so all you need is a cable. around $ 8.

once you have connected your computer then Imovie will be pleased capture the video. There are devices on the promote that convert firewire to USB THEY DONT WORK!!!!!! really a waste of time.

Panasonic PV-GS320 records in Mini DV by the same compression as DV,you can convert it to more common mov,mp4 format that’s simple to import into iMovie 09.Hopefully it works!

my panasonic digital video recorder wont work on yahoo as my cam but it will on msn why can anyone help?
i have all the right cables for it but it wont send picture to other person computer as a webcam on yahoo.

i reckon you should reinstall it or place it in a different USB port and if it still doesn’t work try reinstalling yahoo or mess with the webcam settings.
