RE: digital cameras, is there anything in the specs that can be used to compare the write/output speed?
I know the SD card used can be a factor, but i also believe that the camera can be a limiting factor as well. Small of trying out each camera model i want to buy, i just want to get a sense of how long I need to wait before snapping the next picture (in normal mode). The camera specs listed are mostly a mystery to me, so if the answer is there, it would be fantastic to know.

Generally, I look at the reviews at:
http://www.dpreview.com and http://www.imaging-resource.com
In addition, when checking out camera specs, you can look at the “frames per second” rate or fps rate. It’s also sometimes called the “shot to shot” rate.
This will give you an thought of how quickly the camera can take multiple photos.
Most point and shoots are about 1 fps; the more expensive digital SLRs are from 3 fps to 11 fps. There’s also a Casio superzoom camera that does 60 fps. When you’re doing action shots or a sequence of shots, 1 fps can be an eternity.

I’m So Hot I’m Red

Taken on Fujifilm Velvia 100 with a Diana+ and cross processed
Last time I was in Venice Beach, I took a photo of this same chick with my digital camera. I processed it to look very red — nearly redscale. So when I saw her again I was so delighted that I had some Velvia 100 in my Diana+. I knew cross processing this film would turn the photos red, so I was curious to see how my digital photo compared. I reckon i got it pretty darn close!
There are so many different series of Kodak, Nikon, and Cannon. I just want the best for my buck. Is there a website defining what’s best? Are there videos too?
